Engineered Wood Product Designer - Remote

Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time remote EWP Designer to assist with EWP designs. We are a distributor of engineered wood products and we perform design and layout duties for retailers across much of the U.S. This posting is specific for our Sun Prairie, WI, markets. The ideal candidate would be performing design duties in both markets.

We collaborate with co-workers, retailers, builders, architects and engineers, and we do so at a high level with great attention to detail, accuracy and customer satisfaction. If you are an experienced and driven EWP Designer in Southeast WI and you’re looking for a new (remote) opportunity, this may be a good fit for you.

Responsibilities

• Perform designs, layouts, placement plans and size beams with provided software
• Generate customer quotes
• Offer alternatives and solutions as problems arise in the field or as plan changes are made
• Provide software-generated calculations when requested
• Plan your design(s) based on Retailer and Builder preferences as well as current products available in each respective market

Requirements

• 5 years min. experience
• Self-motivated and driven to succeed in a high volume and fast-paced environment
• Well-rounded knowledge of general construction practices and principles
• Good understanding of stick-framed roofs
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Well-rounded people and math skills
• Ability to solve problems quickly
• Highly organized and communicates well
• Home office with a stable/high speed internet connection and Verizon 4G/5G coverage
