Amerhart Opens New Distribution Center in Jackson, MI
Rick Jolly, Branch Manager for Amerhart Michigan, emphasizes the strategic advantage of the Jackson location: “Being only about an hour’s drive from the larger metro Detroit area, Jackson is the ideal location for Amerhart to strengthen its foothold in southern Michigan. Combined with the capabilities of our branch to the north in Traverse City, we will be well prepared to meet the needs of the building industry across the entire state.”
As a first step in launching the new branch, Amerhart has purchased the facilities and equipment of an existing lumberyard in Jackson, with plans to convert the property from a retail to a wholesale operation.
Amerhart anticipates that the location will begin supplying customers in Michigan with a full range of building materials, including lumber, engineered wood, plywood panels, decking, siding, exterior trim and more early in 2022. Customers can expect to find top brands like LP SmartSide engineered wood siding, Versatex PVC moldings and trim and Wolf PVC decking.
Growing in Reach and Relevance
The acquisition of the Jackson property continues a period of growth for Amerhart. In January 2021, the addition of a branch in Marshall, Minnesota, contributed to the development of a larger Western Region and expanded Amerhart’s reach into Minnesota, South Dakota and Northwest Iowa. With 11 branches across six states and a distribution footprint that extends even further, Amerhart, headquartered in Wisconsin, is now one of the largest independently owned providers of building materials.
Amerhart takes ownership of the Jackson property on November 13, 2021. The branch will be operational as a distribution center by the spring of 2022.
