Columbia's Rotary Cut White Maple has a clean, uniform face that offers all of the benefits of a hardwood veneer with none of the drawbacks or unpredictability. It eliminates the "barber pole" effect that can be found in maple book-matched faces and delivers dependable results with a tight color range and subtle grain characteristics.

The Veneer Core is made with alternating veneer inner plies. In North America, the innerply species are usually softwood (fir or pine) on the west coast and poplar or aspen on the east coast.

Veneer core panels are relatively light in comparison with composite panels, typically weighing about 70 lbs. per 3/4" panel. Veneer core offers great strength and stability with better spanning properties than either particle board or medium density fiberboard (MDF). Veneer core does have a wider variance in thickness in comparison with highly engineered PBC or MDF.

Note that these panels are shop grade, determined to be less than 100% usable due to a manufacturing defect such as a dent, scratch, or damage, but having at least 85% of the surface area of the panel that is unblemished and assumed to be usable.
